Easier Forms by Andrew Hill
Build forms with a live preview, collect answers in WordPress and send notification emails. The existing Forms menu and shortcodes remain familiar after the rename.
Free core; Pro adds signatures, PDFs, signing requests and integrations.
Install and activate
Download the plugin ZIP supplied for your edition. In WordPress, open Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin, select the ZIP, install and activate it. Activate your Freemius licence for Pro features. The menu may say Simple Forms while Gravity Forms is active.
Create your first form
Open Forms (or Simple Forms), add a form and give it a clear name. Drag fields into the live preview, reorder them and set each label, help text and required status. Start with Name, Email and Message. Use conditional rules to show follow-up questions only when an earlier answer calls for them. Save the form, then use Try it at desktop, tablet and phone sizes.
Publish and test
Copy the shortcode shown by the builder into a Shortcode block, or choose the form block. For example, [rsf id="12"] displays form 12; replace 12 with your own form ID. Existing [really_simple_form id="12"] shortcodes remain supported. Elementor users can use its Shortcode widget. Submit the published form while signed out, check the confirmation and confirm the entry and notification email arrived.
Emails and saved entries
Configure the administrator notification and, if needed, a copy for the visitor. Use the builder’s answer-insertion controls rather than inventing field placeholders. Set the sender to an address on your own domain and use the visitor’s address for replies. Entries can show all forms or one form, with search, unread counts, printing and CSV export. If entries arrive but email does not, check spam folders and your WordPress mail delivery configuration.
Photos and newsletter consent
The Photo upload field allows a configurable maximum of 1–10 photos. Browser resizing reduces large images; server checks reject invalid files and files above 10 MB. Photos are attached to notification emails. Keep a copy with the entry is optional and off by default. The Newsletter sign-up field needs Newsletters 1.2.0 or later and is always optional; choose a list or use the default list. A form submission alone is not newsletter consent.
Pro: signatures, PDFs and signing requests
With a valid Pro licence, add a signature field and configure PDF copies, including whether PDFs attach to emails. Send for signing lets you email a form with known answers pre-filled and locked. Review the opened/signed status and the entry’s signing record. Test with your own address before sending a real request. Pro integrations include webhooks and supported direct plugin connections; map fields and test one submission before relying on the automation.
Move from Gravity Forms
Use the import screen to copy supported forms and past entries. Compare field rules, emails, confirmations and sample entries before switching Gravity Forms off. The plugin can interpret mapped legacy [gravityform] shortcodes once Gravity Forms is inactive. Keep a backup and test every important form, especially contracts and conditional questions.
Data, updates and troubleshooting
Back up the database and uploads before updating. Deactivation stops the plugin; deletion normally keeps forms and entries. The developer option RSF_DELETE_DATA_ON_UNINSTALL explicitly enables data removal and should not be used during a rename. If a form is blank, check its ID and save status. If a Pro field is unavailable, check the installed edition and licence. Export only to people authorised to see the answers.
